Responsible Minerals Sourcing Policy
Last updated:
As Kıvanç Plastik Sanayi ve Ticaret Ltd. Şti., we aim to achieve the highest standards in ethics, environment, and occupational health and safety, and we conduct our operations with a commitment to a responsible and sustainable supply chain.
In this context, we commit that none of the products we supply contain tantalum, tin, tungsten, gold (3TG), cobalt, or natural mica sourced from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) or adjoining countries that contribute to the financing of conflict or human rights violations in the region.
Kıvanç Plastik commits to avoiding any activity that could contribute to the financing of conflict or human rights violations (particularly the risk of child labor in cobalt sourcing); to complying with United Nations sanctions resolutions, the OECD Due Diligence Guidance, relevant international regulations, and all applicable local legislation; and to encouraging our suppliers and business partners to fulfill the same obligations.
Accordingly, we expect our suppliers to source these minerals only from responsible and traceable sources not associated with conflict, and to pass this requirement down through their own supply chains.
Regarding mineral sourcing from conflict-affected and high-risk areas (CAHRA), Kıvanç Plastik adopts and commits to the following policies and practices:
To ensure transparent sharing of smelter, country of origin, mine location, and supply chain information in cooperation with suppliers, for the purpose of identifying potentially risky minerals in the supply chain,
To conduct due diligence together with our suppliers using internationally recognized reporting standards (CMRT, CRT, EMRT),
To work together with suppliers who carry potential risk to take actions aimed at eliminating or reducing such risks, and, if risk-mitigation efforts fail, to suspend or terminate the business relationship with the supplier concerned,
To refrain from bribery, corruption, improper payments, or similar attempts aimed at concealing, altering, or misrepresenting the origin of minerals, and to apply a zero-tolerance policy toward such attempts,
To support efforts to prevent illegal taxation, forced labor, forced seizure, smuggling, or money laundering activities identified in areas where minerals are traded, along transport routes, and at points of access to mining sites, and to make the necessary notifications,
To act in cooperation with suppliers, national and international official authorities, industry organizations, civil society organizations, and, where deemed necessary, affected third parties, in order to prevent or mitigate adverse impacts related to these minerals.
Kıvanç Plastik regularly reviews the effectiveness of this policy, updates it in line with customer expectations and international regulations, and supports its implementation throughout the supply chain.
